Privacy policy

The short version
This is a small website for a small company. We collect the information you choose to send us through the contact form, plus the ordinary technical logs any web server keeps. We use it to reply to you and to keep the site running. We do not sell it, we do not advertise to you, and we do not build a profile of you. If you want your information gone, email justin@mew.io and we will delete it.
Who we are
MEW IO LLC (“Mew,” “we,” “us”) operates mew.io. We are based in San Francisco, California. For any question about this policy or about information we hold, write to justin@mew.io.
What we collect
There are only two ways information reaches us through this site.
Information you send us
If you fill in the contact form, we receive your name, email address, and message, plus your company name and the subject you selected if you provided them. That is the whole list — we do not ask for anything else, and there are no hidden fields collecting more.
Ordinary technical information
Like every website, ours sits behind a hosting provider that records basic request information — IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, and the time — for security, abuse prevention, and reliability. These logs are generated automatically by our infrastructure provider, are kept for a short period, and are not used to identify or profile visitors.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. Not to anyone, for any price.
- We do not run advertising, ad pixels, or cross-site tracking on this site.
- We do not set analytics or advertising cookies. This site sets no cookies at all.
- We do not add you to a mailing list because you contacted us. If we ever start a newsletter, you will have to ask for it.
- We do not use your message to train machine learning models.
How we use what you send
To answer you, to have the conversation that follows, and to keep a record of our correspondence the way any business keeps its email. If a conversation turns into an engagement, the information becomes part of our ordinary client records. That is the extent of it.
Who else touches it
We keep the list of service providers short, and each one only sees what it needs to do its job:
- Cloudflare — hosts and delivers this website, and handles the request logging described above.
- SendGrid (Twilio) — carries contact form submissions to our inbox as email.
- Google Workspace — where our email lives once it arrives.
Beyond those, we share information only when we genuinely have to: to comply with the law, to respond to a valid legal request, or to protect our rights or someone's safety. IfMEW IO LLC were ever acquired or merged, information would transfer with the business, and this policy would continue to apply until you were told otherwise.
How long we keep it
Contact messages stay in our email for as long as they are useful — typically a few years, because a conversation from two years ago often becomes relevant again. Server logs are short-lived and expire on our provider's schedule. You can shorten any of this by asking us to delete your information.
Your choices
Whatever privacy law applies where you live, our answer is the same and we are not going to make you prove your jurisdiction first. Email justin@mew.io and ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you,
- send you a copy of it,
- correct anything that is wrong, or
- delete it.
We will do it, and we will do it within 30 days. There is no form, no account to create, and no identity-verification gauntlet — we will simply confirm you are the person who wrote to us. You will never be treated differently for asking.
Cookies
This site does not set cookies and does not use local storage or similar tracking technologies. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and form submissions are encrypted in transit. We keep access to our inbox limited to the people who need it. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise, but we do not hold the kind of sensitive data that makes us an interesting target — and we would rather keep it that way, so please do not send passwords, payment details, or confidential documents through the contact form.
Children
This site is aimed at businesses and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us something, email us and we will delete it.
People outside the United States
We are a US company and our providers process information in the United States. If you contact us from elsewhere, your information will be handled here. By writing to us, you are fine with that.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Substantive changes will be described plainly rather than buried. Prior versions are in this site's public git history if you ever want to compare.
